Ginera Dragee is a drug used to prevent women from getting pregnant. Ginera Dragee is available in packages of 21 tablets and the tablets are white. Each coated tablet contains 75 mcg gestodene and 30 mcg ethinylestradiol as the active ingredient. Ginera Dragee contains lactose.
What is Ginera Dragee used for?
Oral contraceptive pills containing estrogen and progesterone hormones are called “Combined Oral Contraceptive (COC)”. Ginera Dragee is also a drug in this group. Gestodene and ethinylestradiol hormones in Ginera Dragee suppress the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which is necessary for the follicle to mature until the ovulation stage, and luteinizing hormone secreted from the pituitary gland, thereby prevent ovulation.
Ginera Dragee intensifies the gestodenservical mucus, thereby preventing sperm from reaching the ovum. Movements and secretions of the fallopian tubes may also be affected. Also, gestodene makes the inner lining of the uterus thin, preventing a fertilized egg from settling.
